Mammadov Nizami Murad oglu

Mammadov Nizami Murad oglu (1958-1992) was born on January 12, 1958 in the town of Khankendi. After the secondary school, in 1975-1977 he served in Irkutsk.
After the army, he was engaged in Khankandi Tree and Shrub Planting Office and then worked at Garabagh Silk mill. Then he became a student at Baku Special Police School. After graduating from the school, he began to work as an assistant on duty at Khankendi Police division. Then, in connection with the situation, he continues his work at Shusha District Police division. When in 1988 the Armenian nationalists began to drive out the Azerbaijanis from their native land, he was ensuring the security of the population.
Nizami Mammadov participated in self-defense battalions by delivery of arms and ammunition, and jumping into the most important operations, such as Dashalty, Malibeyli, Qaladeresi let the Armenians know his strong will. Died as a hero on March 29, 1992.
By decree No. 264 of the Azerbaijan Republic’s President dated on October 8, 1992 Nizami Mammadov posthumously awarded with the title of “National Hero of Azerbaijan”. He was buried in the village of Daymadagly of Barda district.
